Lost Wax Casting is the technique we use for majority of the ALIBI BY JO.LIU collection. I personally love wax carving- the process is a slow progression of your designs coming to life! I've come to learn that the waxes will never turn out exactly how you picture it but that's what makes it unique, all the perfect imperfections that marks it your own. 

The Tools:


Here are some of my most used tools:
Wax {matte green flat top ring tube}/ Sand Paper/ Saw/ Wax Files/ Dental tool/ Mask
Step 1: Sketch


Step 2: Carve

Step 3: Cast 



Direct cast your finished wax to metal. Once it's in metal you can polish up the kinks and tiny scratches before making a mold.


Step 4: Mold: Make a mold of your finished product so you can reproduce your design whenever you need!
